Welcome
Situated a 2 minute walk from Highgate Village, this traditional English pub is a hidden gem. The Wrestlers has stood on it's present site since 1547. The present owners are in their 16th year of running this fine hostelry. With its real fireplace, wooden furniture and stained glass windows, it is a pub full of old world charm. Many stories have been shared here and with its friendly bar staff and great variety of drinks, we hope you'll have a memorable visit, time and time again.
Sacred Gin/Vodka
Now, you've heard of all the usual gins and vodkas, but have you
heard of the Sacred range? We were the very first pub to serve
this quality local product, indeed we even had a hand in
tasting/commenting on many of the early samples ( it was a tough job
but someone had to do it!). It's made with natural botanical ingredients, just round the corner from the Wrestlers
and we serve it as our house pour. So having lead the way, we
are delighted to see Sacred Gin and Vodka being served as a premium
spirit in some of the finest bars in the world.
Cask Ales
We have something for everyone...if you're after a classic English
pint, we have the award winning London Pride and Cornish favourite
Tribute Ale as permanent fixtures, or
if you're after something slightly different our ever changing guest
ales offer something a little more challenging. From springy, hoppy
pale ales to sweet winter stouts, we source our ales locally and have
our staff trained to look after them properly so that they
are in optimum condition for serving...don't believe us? Just ask for
a taster!
Craft Beers
We have award winning beers from the top craft beer producers in the
world; if you wish to try something from the best craft beer
suppliers, how about our Brooklyn lager - its
wickedly hoppy but with a refreshing bitterness and floral hop aroma.
If it's hops that your're a fan of, try our Goose Island IPA - a hop
lover's dream all the way from Chicago...or if you're feeling a little
rock n'roll, you will LOVE Punk IPA.......... so fruity it will blow your
mind!!!
Wine
Now here's where we get even more serious, not only do we have a good
range of wines by the glass but we also have an extensive list of some
rather 'fine' wines too...also known as the fancy ones. Now depending
on your palette you can opt for a cheeky glass of merlot for a few
pounds, or take a deeper look into the book (our menu) where we have
some of the finest french burgundy and bordeax available, that many of
London's reataurants would be proud. We all need a treat once in a while - and with that cheeseboard,
we
say...sounds like heaven.
Food
We proudly serve traditional home made meals - as well as tapas (just
to spice things up a bit)!
Our food menu is created using the highest quality suppliers. If you
have not tried our sausage platter then you've been missing out...with
award winning sausages sourced from North Germany and our bacon filled
sauerkraut you're in for a treat. Our burgers have been called the
best burgers in north London by our customers, and our Sunday roasts
will have you feeling like a kid at Christmas! Our Spanish produce
using borough market suppliers Brindisa, is unrivalled. Our
cheese-boards and cured meat platters are ideal for sharing and with
our daily specials, there is something for everyone.
Staff
Some of the best people in the world are bar staff (and we think we've
bagged them all)! You're never alone at the wrestlers, we're here to
listen to those fun stories whilst creating new ones! With our smiley
faces and our brains full of booze knowledge we're always happy to
help.
